Which parts of North Florida does Five14 Construction cover?

We work across 12 counties: Suwannee, Columbia, Hamilton, Madison, Gilchrist, Lafayette, Taylor, Dixie, Baker, Nassau, Duval, and Clay. That stretches from Jacksonville west to Perry.

Do you only do roofs, or can you handle other building work too?

Roofing is our core trade, but Jay grew up in general construction. We also take on pole barns, framing, siding, drywall, concrete, decks, and porches.

Is Five14 Construction licensed in Florida?

Yes. Jay Perkins holds Florida Certified Roofing Contractor license CCC1336952, and the company carries insurance. You can look the license up on the Florida DBPR website.

Who will I actually talk to when I call?

Five14 is owner-run. You'll be dealing with Jay or his team directly, not a call center or a sales rep who hands you off.

Do you work on farms and rural properties, not just houses in town?

Absolutely. A lot of North Florida is acreage, and we're comfortable with long driveways, barns, shops, equipment sheds, and outbuildings.

When was Five14 Construction founded?

Jay founded the company in June 2024 after roofing since 2015 for several other outfits.

Why Five14

Straight talk and solid work, on every job.

Experienced roofing specialists

Jay has been on roofs since 2015 and grew up beside a general contractor. Between our crew there are decades of combined time in roofing and construction.

Honest assessments, transparent pricing

If a repair will do, we'll say so. You get a straight answer about what the roof needs and a clear price — no scare tactics and no gimmicks.

Materials built for Florida weather

We choose panels, underlayment, and fasteners that stand up to afternoon storms, tropical systems, relentless UV, and the humidity that never seems to quit.

Local, reliable, customer-focused

We show up when we say we will, return calls, and leave the yard cleaner than we found it. Every home gets treated like a real family lives there — because one does.

What we build

Roofing first. Construction when you need it.

Most calls start with a roof — a leak over the kitchen, panels lifted after a squall line, or shingles that are simply worn out. But rural properties need more than roofs, so we also frame, side, pour, and build.

About Jay Perkins

Raised on job sites. Building something of his own.

Jay Perkins picked up a hammer before he was old enough to drive. His father ran a general contracting business, and Saturdays meant hauling lumber, holding the end of a tape, and watching how a building comes together from footer to ridge cap. Those early lessons about measuring twice and owning your mistakes stuck.

In 2015 Jay went to work on roofs full time. Over the next nine years he worked for several roofing companies, learning metal systems, shingle tear-offs, and low-slope work, and seeing firsthand which shortcuts come back to haunt a homeowner. In June 2024 he founded Five 14 Construction LLC to do the work his own way.

What drives him is simple: he wants to drive down a county road with his kids, point at a roof, and say "I built that." That only happens when the work is done right. So Five14 runs on integrity, quality, and the belief that every house belongs to a real family who deserves a straight answer and a crew that respects their property.
